The Constellation Theory

Human beings with all the success we have achieved must be thankful for the skill of recognising patterns. This skill has made us into the dominant figure on the planet. (If dominance is our main goal. If not we’re not as advanced as we claim to be) We have taken a responsibility to rule the world fairly. We talk about being fair a lot. We value it as a virtue. We make things fair with our intellectual prowess among many other things. (We shall go on depth about other aspects on a later article) Observing something and gathering data from that observation to maybe develop something or advance some underdeveloped project is our main goal in the world. This observation focuses on finding a pattern. A pattern that only we humans can see and use in different other modules to fix problems. We see this everywhere we go. (An ironic statement about finding patterns of people finding patterns) For example, the constellations. We saw a few patterns in the night sky and gave those pattern importance for sailing the boat and knowing the location of their boat. We also use those patterns to even predict the future. Many people believe it can actually do so, but again our lives too create a pattern and that pattern can be a short cycle as we humans don’t do so many activities but rather only repeat the same activity every now and then. Hence, we feel like we are predicting the future. But, hey maybe I am wrong, and we actually can predict the future. If that is true, then we really are advanced. Anyway, this grouping of things as a pattern has caused many problems as well. Looking at the sky and seeing stars as a group that look like a fish or a crab makes us feel like those stars are really a group responsible, for they made that pattern not us human beings, we just observed. Hence, we use this way of thinking in everything we do. This is what’s the constellation theory means. As a disclaimer, I would like to point out that it’s not an actual theory that the scientist developed. It’s just my way of seeing and I created it out of necessity and now I am sharing this with you. I hope it helps.

Constellation theory suggests that when observing something we lookout for patterns that form in the thing we are observing. We, then, group them and take them as a whole. The stars we see at night aren’t actually grouped to form different shapes but rather they are just stars. We decided to group them because we saw them as such. Now it isn’t too bad with the stars, right? And it isn’t. But what happens when we use the same technique in almost everything we do? A lot of things obviously, but I am talking about stereotypes. Which then leads to major problems we are struggling to fix such as racism, sexism and many more. Because we group certain traits together and define that group with it, we forget about them not actually being a group at all. But it’s our perception. The same thing we thought as a gift for advancement became the obstacle. I am not suggesting the finding of patterns is bad. I am suggesting rather to go beyond good and bad. To understand how our mind works and maybe not fall into the cyclical thinking of finding and reducing something to the straits of a discovered pattern. If we all could understand how our mind functions, then maybe people wouldn’t be surprised why some people are racist. And even the people who are racist or against another group could realise it’s actually our mind finding a pattern and grouping them as one. If that is done, then other groups that physically manifest themselves to fight against racism or sexism would cease to exist because there would be no such thing as racism or any other discrimination based on patterns. And when such feelings do arise, we could test it with the constellation theory and either get to the real problem or even solve the problem by just looking at it as our minds work and nothing more.

Let’s move to solve a different problem!
